Line Up Announcement 1/3/2009

An idea of Owen’s was to put up the starting 11 on the website to avoid any issues with people claiming they didn’t know they were playing and hence not bringing their match fee with them and other similar nonsense. So for the first team here’s the VAFC starting line up for the game on Tuesday vs 1811 Witchery FC at Fisherrow with a 7:30pm Kick off.

Line up v witchery 3rd march

Line up v witchery 3rd march (thanks to Louise for diagram)

Thats the starting line up as it stands for now. A few confirmed names for the subs bench: Ken Dick, P Gauson, Kaz, Ryan Mckenna, Calum Day, apart from that anyone else who turns up will go on the bench.

What a child. This is the sort of shit that is changing his mind. Abuse for pointing out how to improve. Spitting the dummy because someone questions you. Not being able to make up your mind about how to run the club. I posted earlier, not because I wasn’t on the team but because again joe made a decision not to add but turned on it because you’re more worried about playing people you like the most over people who can actually play. If it was up to me both you and joe would have no say and Nigel, the owner of Staggs, would manage Staggs. Or is that to bloody obvious for you?

  • Wullie Mulgrew

Owen, what particular comment was childish??

Sorry for taking an interest. I said I was interested in sponsoring the team, not that I would for certain, I wanted to see how things went and to be honest Joe’s dignified reply to my post had me reconsidering, however your banal and quite disgusting comments have made my mind up. I wonder what the owner of Staggs would make of the nonsense one of the management “team” makes. I didnt take your sweets, so pack it in.

    To the scum:

As usual there are always low life huns that like to try and wind me up, but as usual they dont have the balls to tell me who they are, please dont turn this blog into a orange fest. I have been arrested enough times for assaulting you dicks another wont bother me.

Sadly this is likely to turn nasty, so this will be my last post and my last visit to this site.

Much like Mulgrew Senior. I feel that this is more trouble than it’s worth. I won’t play for Staggs again, nor post or visit again.

For the sake of the people at Staggs who don’t care about this bitching and just want to play; I wish you all the best in the future.

  • And not even ONE remark regarding the appearance of my fabulous diagram???

    I am deeply saddened.

  • Right. I’ve been at work while all these ludicrous shenanigans have been going on so please excuse my tardiness.

After a couple reads of the comments I have picked up on a few points and will hence discuss them.

Firstly, I direct Mulgrew Junior towards my comment explaining why 4 new faces were brought in for tomorrow’s game.

Secondly, Mike Kinsella has actually only featured in one game since he was made gaffer. Being of such sound mind as you are you will agree that this is surely no length of time for me to hand over full control to Mike, however I fully intend to hand over the reigns when he feels ready to take over as frankly he knows more about the game than anybody else I know.

As for the nit picking jiggery pokery surrounding Mr Gauson, I was in contact with him roughly 10 days ago and he said he would play, sadly since I am not in regular contact with Paddy I didn’t know he had a band practice until i text him tonight. Paddy will always be welcomed to the squad with open arms and certainly features in my plans.

Regarding giving Nigel the post of gaffer, that would be a pretty poor move, primarily because he doesn’t really give a toss about football and has bigger fish to fry i.e running a pub.

In response to your point about playing people we like, that actually was the whole idea behind the team. Since we were past the age of playing in a proper team Owen and I decided to make a team so we could get a regular 11-a-side game.

I won’t be dignifying that dictatorship malarky with any response.

I am pretty disappointed with the way Owen has decided to handle the situation given Wullie’s status as potential benefactor. For that I will be deeply regretful as his help would have been welcomed, however I feared it may have come at the price of team selection rights.

Finally, and most importantly Ciaran you are a primadona. If you kid yourself into thinking that this club isn’t about playing for the very love of the game then you are in a similar mental state that you were a few years ago (I needn’t drop the C bomb here). At this stage our players have to pay to play, have to buy their own kit eventually, and often turn up to stand on the touchline for 45 minutes. Really please refrain from being utterly ludicrous.

Again I’d like to apologise to Wullie for Owen’s response and I’d like to reiterate that his views are not in line with mine on this issue and if there is any way to clear the air with yourself I’d be more than happy to oblige.

I’d have to say that this trite debate has only fuelled me more to win tomorrow and prove to Ciaran how much of a negative influence he is on the team and how little his deceptive and manipulative presence will be missed.

    Keep the faith
