Some major developments in the footballing world in the past couple of days. Firstly the pressing on of establishing the much lauded summer league. After only managing to find 4 teams ready to aprticipate its a little poor but still proves a vital chance for VAFC to scoop some early silverware.

Howdy, everything went quiet for a bit there but after a successful gumtree ad campaign managed to pick up a couple contacts and potential games. One of the teams to get back to me was Blackhall St Columbas who play in the same league as the infamous Westerhailes Baptist Church.

After having to deal with large volumes of jigger pokery trying to tie down a fixture against Wester Hailes Baptist Church FC I assumed that having finally sorted a date that would be the end of any shenanigans.

Finally. After weeks of footballing disappointment ranging from a truly dire lack of fixtures, a truly mediocre string of performances from an Edinburgh team beginning with H, and disastrous cancellations I have managed to book us a good solid fixture etched into stone. However this was not without problems.
